About Caulked Shoe, LLC founder Roy Reehil

Caulked Shoe, LLC is the new name for The Forager Press, LLC, a publishing company founded in 2003, by Roy Reehil (upper left).
With a passion for Adirondack history and folklore, Roy teamed up with fellow historian William “Jay” O’Hern, published several of his Adirondack history books and together they co-wrote two books, Adirondack Adventures (2012) and Under an Adirondack Influence (2008). Roy’s currently working on a new book with the working title Fur, Fish and Lumber, and this new web site will keep his hand in book retailing as that progresses.
To honor the memory of French Louie Seymour, (AKA Adirondack French Louie) and to promote the classic book about him by author Harvey Dunham, Roy has also created the website French Louie.com.
In July 2025, Roy sold the The Forager Press imprint and rights to titles to Upstate Books, LLC, in order to keep those books in print “long past when I’m gone!”
